Good evening! I am doing something a little different tonight. It is day #2 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, you can find details here. The point is to "color" something, somehow everyday for 30 days. Even if it is just a 5 minute coloring session. I am a little under the weather and having a little bit of a hard time focusing. I am trying to keep up and so far so good. (It is only day 2 though!)
I really do enjoy coloring, I find it relaxing. A while back I bought some Prismacolor pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits and tried a technique that I had seen on Pinterest. I'm not sure of the exact link but you can find an example here. I found the technique fairly simple and was hooked. So, for day 1 of the color challenge I decided to break out the pencils again and get to work. (I had bought Spectrum Noir markers and was having so much fun with them I had sort of forgotten how much I enjoyed pencil coloring.)
I used a digital image called "Hairy Situation" from Saturated Canary. Maybe I should've picked an image with just a little less hair, but I love this image so much!!
I colored the hair a couple of weeks ago using my Spectrum Noir Markers in TN1, EB1 and EB2. Then, yesterday I colored all of the rest of the image with my colored pencils and blended with Odorless Mineral Spirits and blending stumps. I have been wanting to make a video for a while and I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. I was basically playing around trying to figure out my lighting and setup. It was also my first time using iMovie - which I highly recommend! It's a short, simple video but it was fun to make.
I know, I need to play more and figure it out.
So that was day 1. For day 2 (today), I finally used my Somebunny Stamp Set from MFT Stamps. I stamped these little cuties with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some white cardstock. I colored them using the same technique as above. They are going to go on some cards that I plan on making this weekend.
I think these guys are super cute!!
Now I'm all caught up on my posts for the challenge! There are tons of inspiring photos on Instagram, check it out!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
